A place where friends and family meet to enjoy a remote fishing vacation, pick blueberries, or take time to reconnect with nature

Welcome to WAWA, a small friendly Northern Ontario community situated conveniently on the Trans Canada Highway between Sault Ste. Marie and Thunder Bay in Ontario Canada. Often remembered for the famous Wawa Goose Monument…a giant 4 ton statue of the Canadian Goose which proudly stands at the entrance to our community. In fact, it’s reported to be the most photographed landmark in North America.Just 2 minutes from the Goose you can enjoy a fantastic view of Wawa Lake at Lion’s Waterfront Park. With free WIFI and comfortable chairs, you can have a seat, enjoy the view and share it with friends and family at home. A boardwalk along Wawa Lake is a great place to get out and stretch your legs!Sandy Beach Eco-Interpretive park is about a 10 minute drive from the Goose and affords one of the most spectacular views in the area. This park hosts a story telling pavilion where you will learn about the First Nations people who first settled the area, famous artists who spent time on the shores of Lake Superior and so much more. Take a walk along the boardwalk and then slip off your shoes and walk across this white sand beach and dip your toes into Lake Superior. All this just 10 minutes from that famous Goose! The Magpie River provides two great viewing opportunities at Scenic High and Silver Falls. These are favorites among visitors and locals alike. Scenic High Falls provides a full covered picnic pavilion and washrooms along with an interpretive trail from the bottom to the top of the Falls. The trail affords great views of the Magpie River gorge! Both Scenic High and Silver Falls connect to the Voyageur hiking trail.
